Rosemont In-home Care Services
Sitting snugly between Bryn Mawr and Villanova, Rosemont, Pennsylvania is an area that, along with its very close neighbor, Bryn Mawr, embraces the academic pursuit of excellence while boasting the best of all that is the Main Line of Philadelphia.
Rosemont is an unincorporated community that is part of two townships: Radnor and Lower Merion. School districts are split according to township boundaries, with some Rosemont students attending Radnor Township School District schools, and the others attending Lower Merion School District schools.
There are several private academic institutions situated in Rosemont, as well, including, but not limited to Holy Child School at Rosemont, The Agnes Irwin School, Hill Top Prep School, and Rosemont College, where in the 1940s the then-Senator John F. Kennedy visited his sister, Patricia when she attended the school.
The location is a stop along SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale line on the Regional Rail, as well as Norristown's high-speed line. It is easily accessible and abundant in educational opportunities.
Within such a compact area, Rosemont's shining jewel is its esteemed Rosemont College, which houses the J. Sinnott Mansion. Originally a part of the Ashbridge Estate, known as "Rosemont Farm," it was later purchased by a wealthy whiskey distiller, J. Sinnott, who - like many of his affluent counterparts - used it as his summer home.
Known by the name, "Rathella" the Chateauesque-style building is a 2.5 story stone structure built on a brick foundation, and it has a total of 32 rooms.
The sisters of The Holy Child of Jesus bought the property for $250,000 in 1921, then sold it only six years later to Rosemont College for a whopping total of $1.00.
Rosemont and the surrounding area grew in prominence in the early 20th Century as a result of its location along the "Main Line" of the Pennsylvania Railroad and has retained its ostentatious status for well over a century.
